Mr. Jan Veselak, MA, LAC, CCHT
My Treatment Philosophy:
I believe that recovery is like a four legged stool. Each leg helps the other to maintain balance. If a leg is missing then you have to keep so busy trying to balance that you have no time for anything else. The four legs of recovery are physiological, psychological, social and spiritual. I believe that helping you balance these four aspects will aid you on your way to recovery and freedom from the oppression under which you have been living. I am highly experienced in helping people strengthen and balance each leg of the stool
I am licensed in the State of Colorado as a Licensed Addictions Counselor and certified as a Child and Family Investigator, Certified Counseling Clinical Hypnotherapist, and as a Neurolinguistic Programmer (NLP).
I graduated from John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, California with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1993, with a specialization in Chemical Dependency. In 1996, I completed an intensive training course in Relapse Prevention Therapy from CENAPS. I was certified as a Child and Family Investigator by Katz and Loizeaux in 2007. I was certified as a Certified Counseling Clinical Hypnotherapist by the Denver School of Hypnotherapy in 2008, and have taken several trainings since then to become expert as a clinical hypnotherapist. In 2013 I was certified as a Neurolinguistic Programmer through The Empowerment Partnership. I am currently in training to become a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction.
My specialties as a therapist include working with people recovering from chemical and process addictions, relapse prevention, and anxiety. I work with people to help them overcome their limiting beliefs and emotions that keep them stuck. I am highly trained in many different treatment modalities, but my theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic.
